According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian defenders have published news about the elimination of Russian occupant Danil Popov, who participated in the war against Ukraine since 2022 and served in the 137th separate assault brigade 'Ural'. In addition, he was awarded medals for bravery and courage.

According to Russian sources, Popov went missing in July 2025 during the battles for the settlement of Troitske in Donetsk region, but news of his elimination only became known in December of that year. Farewell to the occupant will take place in Tomsk (Russia).
