Overnight Strike on Kyiv Destroys School Attended by Anna Koshmal's Son
Kyiv Under Attack: School Reduced to Rubble
According to Главком: During the night of June 15, a missile strike devastated a school in Kyiv where the son of Ukrainian actress Anna Koshmal was a student. The educational facility, known as Academy-A (part of the A+ Educational Holding), was located within the Komfort Town residential complex in the Dnipro district. The building was completely gutted by fire following the bombardment, leaving nothing but charred remains.
Anna Koshmal, a well-known figure in Ukrainian cinema, confirmed the loss on her Instagram account.
“Mykola’s school burned down. Our concert hall,” she wrote, expressing her outrage over the tragedy.
In her post, the actress also highlighted the broader scale of the disaster, stating, “Russia has launched another massive attack on Ukraine. The war is still ongoing, and people are dying again.”
Civilian Casualties and Calls for Accountability
Beyond the school, the attack also damaged the apartment of Maksym Tymoshenko, rector of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music. A kamikaze drone (Shahed) struck his home, hitting a children’s room. Reports indicate that the rector’s child was injured by shattered glass from the blast.
This tragedy underscores the ongoing threat to civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Anna Koshmal has urged the international community to isolate Russia and hold it accountable for acts of terror and war crimes. Noting that rescue workers were killed in Kharkiv, and that children and pregnant women have also been harmed, she called for decisive action in response to the aggression.
The destruction of this school and residential areas highlights the relentless aggression and dangers faced by Ukrainians amid the war. Such attacks not only devastate infrastructure but also take a heavy psychological toll on the population, especially children who witness the violence. Appeals for international support and the protection of civilians in Ukraine remain urgent as the conflict continues.
The ongoing conflict has not only affected educational institutions but also poses significant risks to families. Recently, a drone strike targeted the home of Maksym Tymoshenko, the rector of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, injuring his child in the process. This incident further illustrates the perilous situation faced by civilians in Ukraine.
