Shmyhal named three key conditions for ending the war: details of the statement
Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal believes that a strong Ukrainian army, sufficient weaponry, and powerful sanctions against the aggressor are necessary to end the war. 'We need to create conditions under which Putin will be forced to sit at the negotiation table,' he emphasized during the 'Yalta European Strategy' meeting.
Priorities of the Ministry of Defense
Shmyhal also pointed out the key priorities of the Ministry of Defense:
- preserving the lives of soldiers - developing FPV drones, robotic systems, artillery shells;
- air defense - utilizing air defense systems and interceptor drones;
- long-range strikes - manufacturing and scaling drones and long-range missiles.
Establishing a Kill Zone and developing innovations
The Defense Minister underscored the importance of preventing future aggression and developing new defense innovations. For this purpose, a Kill Zone is being formed, with drone lines covering areas from 10 to 30 kilometers.
An innovative center has been established in Kyiv, funded by the EU and Ukraine, which promotes the development of new technologies and supports startups in the defense sector. The creation of companies and joint ventures in EU countries and abroad is also planned.
'We are ready to share experiences and technologies, create companies and joint ventures in EU countries and beyond. I invited foreign companies to join projects and invest in Ukrainian developments,' the Ukrainian Defense Minister added.
During the 'Yalta European Strategy' meeting, the Ukrainian Defense Minister noted the necessity of a strong Ukrainian army, as well as emphasized the priorities of the Ministry of Defense and the importance of innovation development in the defense sector.
