According to Федоров: Kyivstar is launching a new service, Starlink Direct to Cell, which will allow Ukrainians to send SMS via satellite without regular mobile communication. This will be useful in cases where mobile communication is unavailable, for example, during emergencies. This step shows that Ukraine continues to innovate, even in stressful situations.
As the first in the world to implement such technology, we continue to develop the Ukrainian tech sector and create new solutions that are already serving as an example for other countries.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine actively supports this development, attracting new technologies and preparing infrastructure for the implementation of fifth-generation mobile internet. Next steps include the launch of voice calls via satellite and expanding access to mobile internet for all citizens of Ukraine.
