Green Grey soloist on Diesel's death: concert in Kyiv will not be canceled

Murik with Green Grey first on the line
Соліст Green Grey прокоментував ситуацію з концертами в Україні: виступ у Києві залишиться незмінним.

The soloist of the band Green Grey, Dmytro Muravytskyi, known as Murik, spoke out after the funeral of Andriy Diesel Yatsenko. The musician commented on the loss of his friend and announced the upcoming concerts. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Muravytskyi's social media.

“It’s already the fourth morning in a row, waking up, I cannot accept this reality. But there is no more Andriy, Andriy Diesel Yatsenko with us. Yesterday (October 23) we laid him to rest. But life, work must go on. Therefore, first of all, I officially declare that the concert scheduled for October 30 will take place,” Muravytskyi stated.

This refers to the Green Grey concert at the capital's Caribbean Club. The performance was supposed to be one of six concerts of the rockers on a tour that was planned to start on October 24 in the city of Dnipro. After Diesel's death, information appeared online that the Green Grey tour was being canceled. In a new video, Murik clarified an important point.

“Regarding the canceled tour, I believe that it is a mistake in the formulation of the thought itself. It is not canceled, it is simply postponed. Understand, due to life circumstances. So, rest in peace, bro. Show must go on. Rock on,” Dmytro Muravytskyi summarized.

During the farewell ceremony and Diesel's funeral, Murik did not provide comments. Andriy Yatsenko died on October 20 from heart failure caused by ischemic heart disease. After the farewell ceremony, Diesel was cremated at Baikove Cemetery. The rock band Green Grey was founded in Kyiv in 1993 and became popular thanks to such hits as «Under the Rain», «Mazafaka», «Emigrant». They were written in Russian and translated into Ukrainian during the war. The premiere of the Ukrainian version of «Under the Rain» was supposed to take place during the tour.

Dmytro Muravytskyi, known as Murik, announced that the planned concert of the band Green Grey will take place, although the tour was postponed due to life circumstances. The musician expressed his gratitude and respect for the memory of his deceased friend, proposing to continue the tour and show as a requirement of the world rock scene.
