Gen 6 Automated System Goes Live

According to НВ — Техно: On July 7 at 3:00 PM, Dallas-based LibertyStream announced the launch of its automated Gen 6 system, designed to extract lithium and produce lithium carbonate. The project is located at the Freedom Launchpad facility, which also serves as a training ground and customer sample production center. This new system can process nearly 800,000 liters of brine per day-equivalent to approximately 5,000 barrels.

Company representatives confirmed the system is operating reliably. The Gen 6 unit is fully integrated into existing U.S. water treatment infrastructure used by the oil and gas industry. The automated platform relies on programmable logic controllers that continuously monitor temperature, pressure, fluid flow, pH levels, and conductivity. Thanks to the Gen 6 upgrade, the cycle time has been reduced from 60 to just 20 minutes.

Preparing for the Freedom 1 Plant Launch

Preliminary testing of the new system lasted 21 months, during which over 63.5 million liters of brine were tested and more than 2,500 trials were conducted. Over recent months, LibertyStream’s engineering and chemical teams refined the operational algorithms, transitioning from manual control to a scalable automated architecture. The company’s primary focus now is on product qualification, operator training, and preparing the Freedom 1 site for commercial operations.

LibertyStream is also preparing to launch the Freedom 1 plant, which will have an annual capacity of 1,000 tons of petroleum products. Previously known as Facility 1, the plant’s shares are traded on the TSXV, OTCQB, and FSE exchanges under the tickers LIB, VLTLF, and I2D. Company President and CEO Alex Wiley remarked that

“the launch of this system is a major milestone for the entire project.”

LibertyStream’s Gen 6 system launch marks a significant advancement in lithium extraction technology, which is critical for the energy sector-especially battery production. Integrating this new system into existing infrastructure underscores the company’s drive to boost efficiency and lower production costs. Preparations for the Freedom 1 plant also highlight the company’s ambitious plans to expand its manufacturing capacity in the future.
