According to ХВИЛЯ: The U.S. State Department has greenlit the sale of JDAM-ER aerial munitions and associated support equipment to Ukraine, with a total value of $373.6 million. This decision aims to bolster Ukraine's ability to address both current and future threats by providing additional tools for self-defense and regional security, particularly through enhanced air defense capabilities. The JDAM-ER variant can strike targets at ranges exceeding 70 kilometers, significantly improving the effectiveness of aerial operations.

Order Details

The package includes:

  • 1,200 KMU-572 JDAM tail kits;
  • 332 KMU-556 tail kits;
  • Maintenance equipment;
  • Spare and repair parts;
  • Consumables;
  • Software;
  • Engineering, technical, and logistics services.

Boeing, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, will serve as the primary contractor for this deal. The U.S. State Department emphasizes that this sale will strengthen Ukraine's capacity to counter existing and emerging threats, offering additional resources for self-defense missions and regional stability.

This agreement marks a significant milestone in U.S. military support for Ukraine, especially amid the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.
