According to Мін. Оборони: As of 8:00 PM on February 24, 2022, the situation in the Donetsk operational area remains tense but under the control of the Joint Forces. Russian and proxy forces have failed to make any significant advance deeper into Ukrainian territory on the eastern axis. Ukrainian defenders have repelled numerous assaults and maintained control over all critical settlements and infrastructure sites.

Fighting on the Luhansk and Donetsk Fronts

The most intense fighting on the Luhansk axis throughout the day centered on the following settlements:

• Shchastia
• Stanytsia Luhanska
• Lobacheve
• Bilovodsk
• Starobilska

During the battle for Shchastia, Ukrainian forces destroyed two enemy tanks and captured one tank along with a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun. In the area of the occupied settlement of Sentyanivka, artillery fire halted an enemy combined column of armored vehicles, Grad multiple rocket launchers, and automotive equipment.

On the Donetsk axis, the heaviest combat occurred in the vicinities of:

• Pavlopil
• Pishchevyk
