Fuel prices jump by 10 UAH: expert warns
Fuel prices in Ukraine may sharply rise in the coming days. We are not talking about a few UAH, but about a jump of 5-10 UAH per liter.
The possible increase was mentioned on air by diplomat and international political expert Vadim Tryukhan. According to him, the key factor is the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
Fuel price jump: what is happening in the Middle East
Tryukhan emphasized that the price of oil has already risen to 82 dollars per barrel. He believes that events in the region will directly affect Ukraine.
«Whether we like it or not, these events will directly concern Ukraine in the near future, over the course of a few days. Iranians are already attacking Saudi Arabia, one of the key producers and suppliers of oil and gas,» said the diplomat.
In his opinion, due to the involvement of the US and its allies in the conflict, the attention of international partners may shift away from Ukraine.
Gasoline prices in Ukraine: what market experts say
Earlier, fuel market expert Dmytro Lyoshkin explained that the main factors for price increases are currency exchange rates and global oil prices, rather than the cessation of pipeline supplies from Slovakia or Hungary.
He noted the importance of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of global oil supplies pass.
If tanker movements are blocked or significantly restricted, prices may rise to 100 dollars per barrel, which will inevitably affect the Ukrainian market.
Possible consequences for drivers:
- increase in gasoline prices by 5-10 UAH per liter
- increase in autogas prices
- review of prices at gas stations in the short term
Against the backdrop of instability in global markets, the fuel segment in Ukraine remains sensitive to external factors.
We remind you that Saudi Aramco stopped the operation of its oil refinery in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia, after a drone attack. The closure of the plant, capable of processing 550,000 barrels of oil per day, was a precaution taken on Monday morning. A fire occurred at the facility, which was localized.
