Australian police have charged the attacker with 59 offenses
According to glavcom.ua: Australian police have charged a 24-year-old attacker with 59 offenses after he and his father opened fire during Hanukkah celebrations in Sydney. Investigators from the New South Wales Joint Counter-Terrorism Team visited the hospital where the young man is being held and presented him with charges including terrorist act, murder, causing serious bodily harm, use of a weapon with intent to cause harm, public display of prohibited symbols of a terrorist organization, and placing explosives near a building.

Antisemitic terrorist attack in Sydney
Recall that on December 14, an antisemitic terrorist attack occurred on Bondi Beach in Sydney, resulting in at least 16 deaths. One of the victims was Alexander Kleitman, a Holocaust survivor originally from Ukraine. The terrorist who opened fire during the Hanukkah celebration in Sydney was stopped by fruit shop owner Ahmed al-Ahmed, a father of two, who took the weapon from him and forced him to retreat.
Strengthening gun legislation in Australia
Following the shooting in Sydney during Hanukkah celebrations, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese proposed to strengthen national gun legislation.
As a result of the attack on Bondi Beach in Sydney and subsequent offenses, Australian police have charged the attacker with 59 offenses. The criminal is currently in the hospital under guard, and the Prime Minister is already considering strengthening gun legislation in light of recent events.
