According to glavcom.ua: Microsoft has reported that damage to undersea cables in the Red Sea may cause delays in its cloud service Azure. This could affect traffic transmission between Asian and European regions through the Middle East.

Our engineering teams are working on resolving the issue by using alternative traffic routes, rerouting, and increasing bandwidth. We are also collaborating with other providers to address the situation.

The reasons for the cable damage are currently unknown. Previous incidents involving cut cables in the Red Sea have already impacted global internet, particularly affecting data transmission to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, causing 25% delays in traffic through the region.

Microsoft noted that it is actively working to resolve the issue and repair the damaged cables, cooperating with other providers and seeking alternative traffic transmission routes. The situation may be significant for users of cloud services and other online services, especially in southeastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
