Former Prime Minister of Ukraine sentenced in absentia to 15 years: details of the verdict for treason
Today in Kyiv, an in absentia verdict was delivered against the former Prime Minister of Ukraine and his assistant on charges of treason. Prosecutors from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office supported the public prosecution regarding the dissemination of materials calling for violent changes to the constitutional order and the borders of Ukraine.
The assistant to the former Prime Minister, who lived and worked in Kyiv, along with another individual, published messages in the politician's Telegram channel about missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and gave interviews to Russian media, where they justified the actions of the Russians and denied armed aggression against Ukraine.

The court imposed a sentence of 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for the former Prime Minister and 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for his assistant. The investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and the region.
As a result of the in absentia sentencing of the former Prime Minister and his assistant in Kyiv for treason, the sentence was issued: 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for the former Prime Minister and 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for his assistant. Both were also held accountable for the dissemination of materials calling for violent changes to the constitutional order and the borders of Ukraine. The Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and the region coordinated the investigation of this case.
