After the next attack by the Russian Federation in Kyiv, the operation of part of the ground public transport system has been temporarily changed. Due to damage to the contact network and the blocking of certain streets, the restrictions have affected trams, trolleybuses, and buses in several areas of the capital. This is reported by KP 'Kyivpasstrans'.

Changes in transport movement in Kyiv after shelling

The municipal enterprise reported that due to the consequences of shelling, it was necessary to adjust the tram routes in Podil.

In particular, trams No. 12 and No. 19 currently operate only between the 'Kontraktova Ploshcha' metro station and the Podil tram repair and maintenance depot.

To ensure passenger transportation, a temporary bus route has also been organized, which replaced tram No. 17. Buses run between Yordanivska Street and Semen Sklyarenko Street.

The restrictions will remain in effect until the repair work is completed and the damaged infrastructure is restored.

Which trolleybuses have changed their routes

Changes have affected several trolleybus routes in the capital.

Currently:

  • Trolleybuses No. 6 and No. 18 run from Maidan Nezalezhnosti to the European Union Avenue;

  • Route No. 32 operates between Pyvnichna Street and the ‘Minska’ metro station;

  • Trolleybuses No. 33 go from the Southern Railway Station to the European Union Avenue;

  • Route No. 38 is shortened to Yevhen Konovalets Street;

  • Trolleybuses No. 28 and No. 31 run only to the Air Force Bridge.

In addition, buses No. 24 and No. 25 temporarily go to Slava Square instead of the usual route.

Passengers are advised to consider temporary restrictions

At 'Kyivpasstrans', residents and guests of the capital are urged to check routes in advance and consider changes when planning their trips.

Damage to the transport infrastructure after Russian attacks regularly leads to temporary traffic restrictions. After the completion of emergency restoration work, public transport routes are gradually returned to their standard operating mode.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 240 cultural heritage sites have been damaged in Kyiv.
