Kyiv is preparing for the heating season: 90% of buildings are already ready for heating supply

Kyiv is preparing for the heating season of 2025-2026. Almost nine out of ten residential buildings serviced by utility managers have received readiness certificates for the start of heating supply. Heating companies conduct inspections and examinations of the internal systems of buildings before issuing documents.

Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petro Panteleev, emphasized: 'The readiness certificate is not a competition for indicators. It is a summary of the work done or evidence of its absence.'

Special attention during inspections is given to old buildings, built over half a century ago, where worn-out basements and communications require comprehensive replacement. An important condition for all buildings is the technical soundness of the heating systems.

Planning the start of the heating season

Panteleev noted that there is still time before the cold sets in to fix the deficiencies identified by the heating organizations. This depends on the stability and safety of the heating supply to the homes of Kyiv residents. The heating season in the capital will begin after a long period when the average daily temperature remains below +8 °C.

Kyiv is already practically ready for the heating season of 2025-2026. The buildings have been checked for the readiness of internal systems, but special attention is paid to old buildings where comprehensive replacement of worn-out communications is needed. In planning the start of the heating season, the Kyiv authorities aim to ensure stable and safe heating supply to the residential buildings of the city.
