In Lviv, access to the city will be closed on July 23-24 due to road repairs
In Lviv, on July 23-24, a part of the road on Stryiska Street will be completely closed to traffic from the city boundary to Vernadskogo Street. This concerns the side leading to the city center. Vehicles and public transport will move in two directions on the opposite side of the road. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
How traffic will change when entering Lviv on July 23-24
Road workers will completely asphalt the entire width of the road in the direction of entering Lviv. As a result, the section of Stryiska from the city boundary to the intersection with Vernadskogo Street will be closed to private and public transport.
Access to the city will not be completely blocked. On the opposite side of Stryiska, which is usually used for leaving Lviv, a two-way traffic flow will be temporarily organized.
Due to the narrowing of the road on the highway, traffic may slow down. The Sykhiv District Administration has urged drivers to take these restrictions into account and plan their trips in advance.
How buses will operate on Stryiska on July 23-24
The repairs will not change the routes of the city public transport. Buses No. 3a, 10, 25, and 40 will continue to operate according to their usual schedules, but will switch to the opposite side of the road on the closed section.
The temporary scheme will only apply to the organization of traffic on Stryiska. The city authorities have not reported any changes to bus stops or schedules.
The complete asphalting is being carried out by the subcontractor "Onur". The work is being conducted with deferred payment. The normal traffic scheme is planned to be restored after the completion of repairs on July 24.
What is being repaired on Stryiska Street in Lviv
The section of Stryiska from Naукова Street and St. John Paul II Avenue to the boundary of Lviv is being renovated in stages. Initially, road workers repaired the even side in the direction of leaving the city, and on June 10, they moved to the opposite side of the highway.
As part of the repair, designated lanes for public transport are being arranged on Stryiska. After the work is completed, there will be three lanes for general traffic in each direction and a separate lane for buses and trolleybuses.
The new traffic scheme is already in operation on the repaired sections. The final asphalting near the boundary of Lviv is expected to allow this lane distribution to be extended to Vernadskogo Street.
Let us remind you that in Lviv private carriers have warned of a possible suspension of some bus routes. The reason cited is a sharp rise in fuel costs and the unprofitability of operations under the current fare.
