Over 1 billion hryvnias paid to Ukrainian prisoners: who received assistance

At the meeting of the Commission, it was decided that more than 265 people were confirmed to have been detained due to armed aggression against Ukraine. By 2025, the Commission has made over 3,635 decisions on this matter. The Deputy Minister and Head of the Commission Oleksiy Ryabikin reported that more than 1.1 billion hryvnias in financial assistance has already been paid, which includes a one-time amount after release and regular annual assistance. In addition, the released individuals receive basic necessities and additional material goods, including smartphones and sports bags.

The Ukrainian authorities continue to provide support and assistance to citizens who fell into captivity due to armed aggression, helping them to rebuild their lives after such severe trials.
