Drone Incursions Recorded in Moldova

Two of these drones violated Moldovan airspace and proceeded toward the villages of Oleneshty and Chistovodne. Another drone was spotted flying over the village of Kaplani, entering from the direction of Crocmaz before exiting Moldovan territory. Moldovan border guards have launched investigations to locate any debris or remnants of these aerial devices.

At 5:19 a.m. on September 19, Ukrainian border authorities reported an unknown object crashing approximately 1.5 to 2 kilometers from the state border near the Ukrainian village of Troitske. The object caught fire upon impact. This event follows other recent airspace breaches over Moldova; notably, on the night of September 17, a drone also entered Moldovan airspace but subsequently returned to Ukrainian territory.

Rising Regional Tensions

It is important to note that earlier incidents have contributed to escalating tensions in the area. On the night of September 9, Russian forces launched drone strikes targeting the international road checkpoint 'Starokozache' on the Ukraine-Moldova border, resulting in civilian casualties. Similarly, on the night of August 25, Russian strike drones attacked infrastructure at the 'Vynohradivka – Vulcănești' border crossing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Sibiga commented on these attacks, stating:
