Hannover Airport Closed Again Due to Drone: Third Time This Week
Drone Halts Operations at Hannover Airport
According to glavcom.ua: On the evening of November 5, the Hannover airport in Germany suspended its operations due to a drone. One of the crews that was landing reported to the controllers about the unidentified flying object.
Witnesses saw that the drone was hovering over one of the industrial zones near the airport. As a result, all flights were stopped for 45 minutes. Some flights were redirected to other airports, while others were delayed.
Other Incidents in Europe
It has been reported that for the third time this week, Hannover airport has ceased its operations due to drones flying nearby. Recently, on October 31, the Berlin airport was closed for two hours, and on November 2, Bremen airport was closed for an hour. Similar incidents have also been recorded in Belgium, Norway, Denmark, and France over the past few weeks.
'Glepkom' also reported that on the evening of November 4, Brussels International Airport was closed following reports of a drone being detected in its airspace.
The successive incidents of airport shutdowns in Europe due to drones indicate the seriousness of the problem and a high level of concern in the aviation sector. Additional measures need to be taken to prevent similar situations in the future.
