Paris Exhibition Highlights Ukrainian Journalists' War Coverage
Photo Exhibition in Paris
According to Главком: A new photo exhibition along Rue de Rivoli, near the Paris City Hall, showcases the work of Ukrainian media professionals and the network of Journalist Solidarity Centers during wartime. Titled '1926–2026: Press Freedom of Speech,' the display marks the 100th anniversary of the International Federation of Journalists and is held in conjunction with the organization's 32nd Congress.
Ukraine Takes Center Stage
Ukraine occupies a prominent position in the exhibition’s timeline, presented across 24 large-format panels. The Ukrainian stand carries the motto 'International Solidarity Saves Lives' and chronicles three years of full-scale war. The information was shared by 'Glavcom,' citing a Facebook post from NSJU head Serhiy Tomilenko.
During a panel discussion in Paris, Tomilenko unveiled a new safety guide for journalists. This handbook offers protocols for operating under drone threats, which can strike targets up to 25 kilometers from the front line, leaving media workers with only 30 to 60 seconds to react. It also includes advice on using drone detectors and emergency response procedures.
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the country has become one of the most dangerous places for journalists to work. Several reporters from 'Glavcom' have even left journalism to serve in the military, underscoring the extreme risks media personnel face in conflict zones.

The event also serves as a stark reminder of the dangers journalists encounter and the urgent need to ensure their safety. The release of the safety guide addressing drone threats represents a critical step in raising awareness about hazards on the front lines of reporting and could become an essential resource for journalists operating in conflict areas.
