According to glavcom.ua: It is believed that Russian 'grandfathers' entertained themselves in this way even during the Tsarist times. Whoever throws the dry dung the farthest becomes the winner. In modern times, this event started in 2008 and gained significant popularity. Even a former Minister of Culture has attended the festival, and the number of dried excrement for the competitions reached 200 pieces.
