New Road Signs Will Appear in Poland from February 19, 2026: Which Ones Exactly
From February 19, 2026, updated road marking rules will come into force in Poland, and new signs will appear. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland. The changes aim to enhance road safety and better adapt the rules to modern transport. This is reported by InPoland.
One of the key innovations is the update of signs related to electric transport and traffic organization on urban roads. Some of the decisions legalize signs that are already actually used on Polish highways.

The updated rules provide for an expansion of the meanings of signs D-23b and D-23c. From now on, they will indicate not only charging stations for electric vehicles but also charging points for hybrid cars. This is intended to simplify the search for infrastructure for drivers of alternative fuel vehicles.
The rules will also officially introduce sign F-23, which indicates a multi-purpose lane within built-up areas. Such a lane is intended for exiting the main road or exiting from secondary passages and parking lots. Overtaking will be prohibited on it.

Changes in Traffic Rules and Transition Period
Another innovation will be the legalization of sign F-24 'wrong way traffic'. It will be used on highways and expressways to prevent cars from entering against the flow of traffic.
Key changes include:
- expansion of the action of signs for charging stations for electric and hybrid cars;
- official implementation of multi-purpose lanes in cities;
- regulated use of the 'wrong way traffic' sign.
For signs installed earlier and not covered by the new requirements, a transition period has been provided. They are allowed to be used, but replacement must occur no later than within 10 years.
Let us remind you that Poland is changing the rules of stay and employment for Ukrainian citizens starting from March 2026.
