According to glavcom.ua: A Ukrainian court found 63-year-old priest Mykola Romanyuk guilty of calls for activities threatening the state's security online. He was sentenced to four years in prison and a three-year ban on managing websites.

According to the investigation, Romanyuk "called for activities aimed against the state's security" in an "anti-war sermon" published on his church's channel in September 2022.

The priest compared participation in the war to sinful temptations and urged not to take part in combat actions, calling it a sin. For such acts, he had to serve a sentence for violating the state security law.

Also, in other parts of the world, courts have responded to violations of state security: in Moscow, a student was sentenced to 16 years for studying terrorism, and a former military officer to 23 years for selling classified information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This demonstrates a harsh reaction to violations of legislation and national security.

Conclusion

A Ukrainian court found the priest guilty of calls threatening state security and imposed a sentence of imprisonment and a ban on managing websites. Court rulings in Europe also show zero tolerance for breaches of national security, which is an important factor in ensuring national security and legality.
