22 Turkish Celebrities Detained in Major Drug Crackdown
Entertainment Industry Shaken by Turkish Drug Raids
According to РБК-Україна — Lite: As part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign, Turkish authorities have detained 22 entertainment industry figures, including Miss Turkey winner Ayşe Hatun Önal, singer Kenan Doğulu, and his brother, composer Ozan Doğulu. In total, over 250 individuals have been taken into custody during the investigation, with drug tests coming back positive for 77% of the celebrities screened.
According to Turkish media reports, all detainees have provided blood and hair samples for toxicology analysis. Law enforcement is currently searching for three additional suspects linked to the case. This crackdown, which began in the fall of 2025, targets a wide range of individuals across the entertainment sector.
Previous Arrests and Broader Implications
Earlier this April, authorities had already arrested 17 people on charges of drug acquisition and possession. Among them was actress Aleyna Bozok, known for her roles in the TV series 'Kingfisher' and 'Cranberry Sherbet.' Some of those implicated are also facing accusations of facilitating prostitution and aiding in the use of narcotics or stimulants.
