In Zaporizhzhia, the DniproHES dam will be closed: how transport will operate on October 11

On Friday, October 11, traffic will be temporarily closed through the DniproHES dam in Zaporizhzhia. In connection with this, public transport will operate on altered routes. The company 'Zaporizhelektrotrans' reported that the restrictions apply to both trolleybuses and buses in the city network. Details were published in the publication 'MIG'.

How trolleybuses will operate in Zaporizhzhia on October 11, 2025

Trolleybus services across the dam will be suspended, so some routes have been redirected, while others have been temporarily halted. In particular, trolleybuses No. 1 and No. 11 will not operate. Other routes will operate in a shortened format:

Trolleybuses:

  • No. 3 – 4th Southern Microdistrict – Zaporizhzhia Square;

  • No. 8 – Simferopol Highway – Zaporizhzhia Square;

  • No. 9 – ZAlK House of Culture – Sedova Street;

  • No. 14 – Simferopol Highway – Embankment;

  • No. 17 – Sedova Street – Zaporizhzhia Square.

How buses will operate in Zaporizhzhia on October 11, 2025

Bus routes will also undergo changes. Some of them will detour around the closed section, and to reduce traffic load during peak hours, additional trips will be launched.

Buses:

  • routes No. 7, 29, 34a, 38, 39, 56, 59, 71 will operate from Zaporizhzhia Square to the 'Epicenter' shopping center via Soborny Avenue, S. Serikov and Kosmicna Streets, as well as M-18 Highway Kharkiv–Simferopol;

  • routes No. 17, 18 and 72 from Borodinsky and Osypenko microdistricts will move through Grebelna, Kyiyashka, Vesnina, Synenka, Nezoli, Arkovyi Bridge, Khortytsia Island, Velychara, Metallurhiv Avenue and further – in their usual directions.

In addition, two temporary routes will be launched:

  • 'Pishchana Street – Metallurhiv Avenue' via Arkovyi Bridge and Khortytsia Island;

  • 'Zaporizhkabel Plant – Metallurhiv Avenue', covering the main transport arteries of the left bank.

All updated schedules for trolleybuses, buses and trams have already been published on the website of 'Zaporizhelektrotrans'.

City authorities urge passengers to plan their trips in advance and consider the changes, as the temporary closure may cause delays in movement. Forecasts indicate that the restrictions will last only one day.

Earlier, we wrote that in Kharkiv, free rides on public transport will continue. The city authorities do not intend to cancel the subsidy introduced during the war. This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov.
