Ukraine and Norway Join Forces for Drone Production

According to Главком: Norway and Ukraine have launched their first collaborative initiative to manufacture Ukrainian drones on Norwegian soil. The project aims to produce several thousand mid-strike drones, which will be supplied to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Funding will come from additional Norwegian resources.

The agreement was signed in Kyiv by Norway’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Lars Ragnar Aalerud Hansen, and Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister for European Integration, Serhii Boiev. The first systems built in Norway are expected to reach the Ukrainian military by summer of this year. The deal also lays the groundwork for broader industrial cooperation, including research and development activities.

Unmanned Systems Forces Achievements

According to the Ministry of Defense, during the first ten days of April alone, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces neutralized or disabled thousands of enemy personnel and pieces of equipment. Ukrainian forces set a new record for destroying hostile drones. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported that 15,438 drones were intercepted along the front line and over Ukrainian cities.

“This agreement opens the door to scaling up production of proven Ukrainian battlefield technologies, strengthening the defense capabilities of both nations,” the Ministry of Defense stated.

The joint drone manufacturing effort between Ukraine and Norway marks a significant step in bolstering the defensive capacities of both countries, especially amid ongoing military challenges.
