According to ХВИЛЯ: In a significant diplomatic breakthrough, Ukraine and Russia have agreed to exchange more than 300 prisoners of war. This marks the first tangible result from humanitarian negotiations between the two sides in five months. The agreement, which involves 314 detainees, was announced by U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff on the social media platform X. Such prisoner swaps are a critical confidence-building measure in the ongoing conflict.
The negotiations, which included a U.S. delegation, were facilitated on a platform provided by the United Arab Emirates. The Russian side also acknowledged positive movement in the talks. Russian Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev noted there was progress and accused what he termed 'war instigators' from Europe and the United Kingdom of attempting to interfere in the process.

Witkoff emphasized that while significant work remains ahead, discussions will continue, with further progress expected in the coming weeks. Kirill Dmitriev confirmed that with each new attempt, progress is undeniable, and he noted the forward momentum in the negotiations.
