Strikes on Crimea’s Power Grid

According to ХВИЛЯ: Between July 21 and 22, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces launched a series of devastating attacks on the energy infrastructure of occupied Crimea and other temporarily occupied territories. Over that 24-hour period, 13 electrical substations were taken offline, bringing the total number of targeted energy sites since July 1 to 117. The main focus of the assault was Crimea’s southern coast, where several 110 kV substations were hit:

• Alushta
• Massandra
• Yalta
• Alupka
• Gaspra
• Darsan
• Luchyste
• Zorya
• Zymyne

Strikes also occurred beyond the peninsula. A 150 kV substation in Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region, was damaged, along with an energy hub in Bilmak and a substation in Olhyne, Kherson region. These operations were carried out by several units, including:

• 1st Separate Center of the SBU’s Security Service
• 9th Battalion Kairos
• 414th Brigade Birds of Madyar
• 412th Brigade Nemesis
• 20th Brigade K-2
• 413th Regiment Raid
• 427th Brigade Rarog

Operation 'Crimea Power Switch Off'

These attacks are part of an ongoing campaign called Operation 'Crimea Power Switch Off,' which aims to cut off electricity to the occupied peninsula and push it into a complete blackout. In the first 18 days of the operation, SBU drones struck 83 energy nodes in Crimea and other temporarily occupied territories. A notable achievement includes disabling a key hub of the Kuban–Crimea energy bridge on the peninsula.

“We will stand firm. Moscow will fall. We will feed and rebuild Crimea,” said Robert Madyar Brovdi.

These strikes on Crimea’s energy infrastructure reflect Ukraine’s strategic approach to combat, focusing on destroying the resources that sustain occupation forces.
