Ukrainian skiers start at the World Cup in Ruka: the road to the 2026 Olympics
Ukrainian skiers are preparing for the new season of cross-country skiing, which starts today in Finnish Ruka. This is an important step on the way to the upcoming Olympic Games in 2026.
This season, a record 28 races are scheduled, including 12 sprints. About 180 athletes from around the world, including 7 Ukrainians, will participate in the competitions in Ruka.

The weather conditions in Ruka remain unpredictable, with temperatures expected around 0°C, which may complicate the state of the track in case of rain or wet snow.
Representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine noted: 'Ukraine already has 5 Olympic quotas, so this season will be crucial for the selection of participants for the Games in Milan-Cortina in 2026.'
