Start of the Olympic season for sliders: the Ukrainian team competes in the World Cup
The Ukrainian sliders are preparing for the start of the new Olympic season at the World Cup in Winterberg! After successful test competitions and the first official qualifying runs on the Olympic track in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where the 2026 Games will take place, the international elite of sliding sports opens the 2025/26 World Cup season in Winterberg, Germany. The competition will take place from December 5 to 7.
This stage will be the first in the history of the World Cup where all types of competitions will take place over one weekend! Athletes from 19 countries will be at the start. This season, nine stages of the World Cup are planned, including six team relays and three mixed team competitions.
Preparation for the Olympic Games
The main event of the season will be the XXV Winter Olympic Games, which will be held from February 6 to 22, 2026, in Milan-Cortina (Italy). The fight for qualification licenses for the Olympics will start at the first stage of the World Cup. The qualification process will last until January 12, 2026, and 106 quotas (59 for men and 47 for women) will be allocated during five stages of the World Cup.
