Ukrainian Strikes Target Russian Military Industry: Missile Parts and Oil Refining Hit
Ukrainian Defense Forces' Operations
According to Главком: Ukraine's military has continued its campaign against targets inside the Russian Federation and within temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. In a significant blow to Russia's war economy, Ukrainian forces successfully struck the 'Strela' Joint Stock Company in Russia's Bryansk region. This facility specializes in manufacturing components for cruise missiles, making it a strategically vital target. These strikes represent a shift in Ukraine's defensive posture, taking the fight to Russia's military-industrial complex.
Objectives of the Ukrainian Strikes
Additional strikes targeted command posts for unmanned aerial vehicles in the Zaporizhzhia region, specifically near Zaliznychny and Dolynka. A command and observation post near Uspenivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region was also hit. Ukrainian forces struck concentrations of enemy personnel near Sosnivka, a storage facility for military equipment near Yakymivka in Zaporizhzhia, and an area where enemy weapons and equipment were amassed in Novosvitlivka, Luhansk region.
On March 26, Ukrainian drones also attacked the Kirishi oil refinery in Russia's Leningrad region. According to Ukraine's General Staff, the Kirishi refinery will require at least a month for partial restoration of operations. The pace of the plant's recovery is contingent on the restoration of operations at the Ust-Luga and Primorsk seaports.
Andriy Kovalenko noted that Russia has already lost nearly 40% of its monthly missile production and about 45% of its oil exports as a result of Ukrainian strikes on its facilities and logistical routes.
Consequently, Ukraine's Defense Forces are persistently executing measures designed to degrade the enemy's capabilities by striking critically important targets on Russian soil and in occupied Ukrainian territories.
These attacks form a core part of Ukraine's strategy to weaken Russia's military-industrial base and reduce its capacity to sustain combat operations. Destroying key facilities like weapons manufacturing plants and oil refineries can significantly impact the combat effectiveness of Russian troops.
Analysis suggests such actions may have long-term consequences for the Russian armed forces, particularly regarding their ability to marshal resources for the ongoing conflict at the front.
As Ukraine intensifies its military operations, the recent strikes not only target critical production facilities but also include significant assaults on air defense systems and command posts. These actions are pivotal in crippling Russia's military capabilities.
