Regional Train Services in Sumy Oblast Suspended

According to Главком: Ukrainian Railways, known as Ukrzaliznytsia, has temporarily suspended several regional train routes in Sumy Oblast on March 16 and 17. The cancellations are a direct result of damage to infrastructure caused by hostile attacks. The company stated that restoring full regional service will require some time.

'We are making every effort and, despite everything, are maintaining some service in the region. However, on certain sections, we have had to suspend operations for several days,' company representatives noted.

Cancelled Train Schedule

The following regional trains will not run on March 16:

• No. 7008 Trostyanets-Smorodyne – Lyubotyn
• No. 6261/6262 Lyubotyn – Lebedynska
• No. 6267 Lebedynska – Sumy
• No. 6019 Sumy – Vorozhba
• No. 7011 Lyubotyn – Sumy

On March 17, the following service is cancelled:

• No. 6012/6011 Vorozhba – Trostyanets-Smorodyne

In a separate development, repair work has begun on the stairs leading to Platform No. 2 North at Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station. The primary goal of the renovation is to update the descent, making it safer and more convenient for passengers. Furthermore, it has been reported that the State Property Fund of Ukraine will take control of 1,592 confiscated Russian freight wagons, which will subsequently be transferred for use by Ukrzaliznytsia. These disruptions highlight the ongoing challenges Ukraine's critical infrastructure faces during the war, directly impacting civilian mobility.

The suspension of train services in Sumy underscores the severe impact of military actions on civilian transport networks. Meanwhile, the infrastructure repairs in Kyiv and the acquisition of additional rolling stock represent steps toward maintaining and improving the national rail system under difficult circumstances.
