12-year-old Ukrainian sets national record: youngest author of a trilogy
Ilya is interested in geography and country studies, which is reflected in his work, where he includes interesting facts about the countries he has visited. Ilya's mother, Svitlana Otrushenko, shared that her son found in writing books an escape from the horrors of war and can work on texts for several hours or leave them aside for months, searching for inspiration.
According to glavcom.ua: A 12-year-old Ilya Otrushenko presented the third book in the series 'The Great Forest Adventure' and set a new national record as the youngest author of a trilogy in Ukraine. To create the book titled 'The Great Forest Adventure. The Mystery of Incognito,' the boy worked for almost two years, sometimes rewriting the entire text. The book is based on a journey with exotic animals traveling through various countries in Europe and the arrival of a letter from Iceland, which triggers a new adventure.
'In the summer of 2023, after the release of the second book, Ilya was recognized as the youngest author of two prose books in Ukraine, and now he has become the youngest author of a trilogy in the 'Children' category. The little boy is already working on the fourth book, continuing to surprise his readers and fans of literary masterpieces,' added Svitlana Otrushenko.
