FLAU launched large-scale courses for coaches: how athlete training is changing

Over two weeks, from November 17 to 30, the Athletics Federation of Ukraine together with the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Bobersky conducted qualification enhancement courses for coaches and specialists.

The training was conducted in a mixed format – online and based at the LDUFK in Lviv. The program combined modern working methods, open interaction with speakers, and the best international practices. The main emphasis was placed on anti-doping education.

“These courses were a true start to our large project ‘Educational Space of FLAU’. We saw a huge demand for new knowledge, professional communication, and exchange of experience – and this motivates us to move forward. There are even more events ahead and a broader geography,” said Oleksii Serdiuchenko.

Participants in the courses acquired the knowledge and skills necessary for today's coach: from sports medicine and psychology to nutrition, competition rules, and long-term training planning.

Participants in the qualification enhancement courses gained important knowledge and skills that will help them in their coaching activities. The initiative to enhance the qualifications of coaches in athletics received positive feedback, which encourages the organizers to expand the scale of events and attract more participants in the future.
