State Program for Compensating Agricultural Land Demining Costs Concludes

According to Мін. Економіки: A state initiative to compensate farmers for the cost of clearing mines from agricultural land concluded in February, returning significant areas to productive use. This program facilitated the demining of 970 hectares through 9 contracts, with a total value of 65.2 million Ukrainian hryvnias. The average clearance cost was 67.2 thousand hryvnias per hectare. Ukraine is one of the world's most heavily mined countries due to the ongoing conflict, making this work critical for safety and economic recovery.

  • Work has begun on clearing over 3.3 thousand hectares under 21 contracts, with services budgeted at 220.1 million hryvnias.
  • In total, 82 contracts have been completed, returning 14.6 thousand hectares of land to use.

The government has also passed a resolution aimed at speeding up the process of returning agricultural land to cultivation.
