Usyk Declares Returning Occupied Territories Impossible
Oleksandr Usyk's Address
According to Главком: Oleksandr Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion holding the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles, recently spoke at an event titled 'America's Adversaries: The Russia Reality.' There, he firmly stated that giving up occupied territories is not an option. Usyk emphasized that the idea of surrendering Donetsk-a city defended by his fallen comrade-is completely unacceptable.
“How can I explain to my son that he must give up Donetsk, a city his father defended and died for? That’s impossible,” the boxer stressed.
Usyk, who boasts an undefeated record of 25 wins with 16 knockouts, also argued that Ukraine needs stronger support from its allies.
“In my view, those who are helping Ukraine need to be tougher, because they are being told one thing but doing another,” he said.
Meeting with Donald Trump
During the event, Usyk met with U.S. President Donald Trump. A photo of their encounter was shared by Margo Martin, Trump’s advisor and special assistant for public liaison. Usyk also visited the Pentagon, where he expressed his awe: 'This was my first time at the Pentagon. Words can’t capture the emotions-the scale is truly impressive!'
At 39 years old, Usyk remains an undefeated world champion in the heavyweight division, holding the WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO belts. His friend fought in the Donbas region during 2014, 2015, and 2016, and was killed in action. That friend’s son is now serving on the front lines, defending Ukraine. Coverage of Usyk’s speech was published on the Independent Women YouTube channel.
Usyk’s appearance at 'America’s Adversaries: The Russia Reality' underscores his active stance on the issue of occupied territories and support for Ukraine. The boxer not only voices his conviction that Ukrainian lands are non-negotiable but also calls on the international community to take decisive action in backing Ukraine. Given his global fame and influence as an athlete, these statements could help draw greater international attention to the conflict in Ukraine.
In addition to his strong stance on territorial integrity, Usyk's recent victory in the ring further solidifies his influence. After his impressive knockout of Verhoeven, he took the time to visit the Pentagon, showcasing his commitment to both sports and national pride.
