People in Crimea Died Without Substitute Therapy
In Crimea, about 20 patients died due to lack of treatment for substitute supportive therapy.
This was reported by UNIAN, citing the director for policy and partnerships of the International Alliance on HIV/AIDS in Ukraine, Pavel Skala.
According to him, 800 patients of substitute therapy are deprived of vital treatment in occupied Crimea, and more than 1000 patients in the ATO zone in the east of the country are at risk of being left without necessary treatment.
“A few dozen patients from Crimea were sent to rehabilitation centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Some of them managed to escape, as the treatment is quite specific. Russian rehabilitation centers and detox courses are a form of execution, which in international law is equated with inhuman treatment and torture,” said Skala.
We remind you that substitute therapy based on methadone is banned in Russia.
