Trains from Ukraine to Sevastopol are delayed by 5 hours
As reported by a correspondent from 0692, a passenger on train No. 47 'Donetsk-Sevastopol', they were thoroughly checked at both the Ukrainian and Russian borders. The procedure took more than five hours. Instead of the scheduled arrival time of 9:13 yesterday, May 11, the train arrived in Sevastopol only at 14:20.
'We were traveling with my husband and a one-and-a-half-year-old child. At the Ukrainian border, they checked our passports. Seeing that I was with a toddler, the border guards said 'lie down-lie down'. They continued to communicate with my husband. They did not personally inspect our luggage. However, we spent about two hours at the border', shared the passenger.
The Russian control, however, turned out to be somewhat more demanding. 'They took our passports and asked to look us in the eyes several times. My husband's information, as he is subject to military service, was entered into the computer. We were already afraid they wouldn't let us through. Apparently, the presence of the small child played a role. After the question 'what is your purpose of visiting Crimea?' migration cards were issued for us for 3 months. Now many from the Donetsk region are traveling for understandable reasons - it's scary. Our luggage was inspected at the Russian border', added the girl. On average, the checking procedure for the train here took another 3 hours. 'The remaining delay time was due to technical delays: they let the train through, we waited.'
Earlier it was reported that ticket sales for the Crimea direction would be suspended from May 27. However, the official website of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' indicated that work on opening preliminary ticket sales after May 27 has begun. Currently, the railway administration is conducting the final stage of timetable adjustments.
Firstly, ticket sales will be opened for international trains that run through Ukrainian territory to Poland, Russia, Hungary, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The terms for preliminary ticket sales will be reduced from 45 to 30 days.
A correspondent from 0692 attempted to book a ticket to Sevastopol after May 27 through the official booking system. Currently, such an opportunity is not available.
