In an interview with the First National channel, the Ukrainian president answered important questions.

Specifically, Poroshenko spoke about reforms in Ukraine and international investments in our country. According to the head of state, while an actual war is taking place in Ukraine, we cannot expect any investments. The president noted that a quarter of Ukraine's industrial potential is currently halted, and a tenth of its capacities are completely destroyed.

At the same time, Ukraine spends more than 90 billion on defense - these are the figures as of today. Given the situation, it is necessary to speak the truth to the people and not to feed them promises of ephemeral investments, the president believes.

As for the implementation of reforms in the country, Poroshenko noted their actual start. Reforms began after the parliamentary elections and the formation of a coalition. Now this group continuously works on the package of reforms that need to be implemented in our country.

The Ukrainian president also touched upon the issue of Crimea during the interview, namely - the Ukrainian armaments that are still located on the occupied territory of the peninsula.

Petro Poroshenko is confident that the Ukrainian authorities must retrieve their armaments from Crimea at all costs. Moreover, Ukraine does not intend to give up its legitimate rights to the Crimean peninsula and plans to defend the Crimean people and their rights by all possible means. First and foremost, the president emphasized that Ukraine will ensure the protection of the rights of all its citizens on the territory of the annexed Crimea. Additionally, it is about protecting state and corporate property in Crimea.

Poroshenko also commented on the borders with Crimea. According to him, these borders will be strengthened to prevent the possibility that terrorists and sabotage-reconnaissance groups could infiltrate into Ukrainian territory.

In brief, but firmly, Poroshenko responded regarding Putin. The President of Ukraine stated that he communicates with the Russian president over the phone within the framework of the 'Normandy Four' negotiations. After February 15, Poroshenko spoke with Putin three times for two hours each time.

Usually, the leaders of the 'Normandy Four' discuss many pressing issues over the phone, ranging from the illegal imprisonment of Nadiya Savchenko in Russia to the situation in Eastern Ukraine and the OSCE delegation. At the same time, Poroshenko noted that the position of the Russian president in these discussions is not close to him and is unacceptable.
