Casualty Count Rises in Odesa

According to Главком: Rescue workers in Odesa have recovered the body of a second confirmed fatality from the recent drone attack. The head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, confirmed the discovery. The man's body was extracted from the rubble on Prokhorivska Street during ongoing clearance operations. This marks the second officially confirmed death in the city from today's assault. The port city of Odesa has been a frequent target for Russian attacks throughout the war.

Massive Drone Assault by Russian Forces

Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on the Odesa region, deploying over 50 strike drones. The assault caused significant damage to dozens of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including:

  • A church
  • A kindergarten
  • A secondary school
  • A fitness center

The attack also damaged private vehicles. Major fires broke out at several locations, severely hampering rescue efforts.

According to the State Emergency Service, dozens of apartments in multiple high-rise buildings were destroyed or damaged. Specifically, a two-story residential building was destroyed, and apartments from the second to the fourth floor of a four-story building were ruined.

Serhii Lysak expressed condolences to the victims' families: 'Unfortunately, the number of victims of the Russian attack is increasing.'

This strike on the Odesa region is part of Russia's wider, ongoing campaign of aggression, which has had devastating consequences for the civilian population. The damage to critical social infrastructure threatens the well-being of local residents and complicates the delivery of urgent aid. Authorities continue to work on eliminating the consequences of the attack and ensuring citizen safety.
