Ukraine Builds Kitchen Factories with EIB Funds: Which Cities Will Receive Modern Canteens

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: As part of financial agreements with the European Investment Bank, 335 projects for restoration have already been implemented in Ukraine, amounting to nearly 585 million euros. Communities are actively implementing their initiatives thanks to various programs that provide funding for various socially important projects.

One of the main areas of financing includes the repair and construction of schools and medical institutions, restoration of water supply and sewage systems, insulation and modernization of public buildings, construction of social housing, as well as creating conditions for internally displaced persons and communities that accept them.

“We are grateful to the European Investment Bank for supporting important infrastructure projects. This year, together with the EIB, we are implementing another direction - the construction of five kitchen factories. This school feeding model has already proven its effectiveness: it saves costs and provides children with quality and safe food. Kitchen factories can also help other categories of the population, including internally displaced persons,” said Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba.

In order to ensure transparency and efficiency in the competitions for project funding, the Ministry for Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine is conducting open project competitions in DREAM - the public investment management system. Communities can submit applications and receive online assessments.

Construction of Kitchen Factories in Communities

One of the new support directions is the construction of kitchen factories in communities. This is an important initiative to ensure quality and safe nutrition for the population. Such factories enable more efficient preparation and delivery of food to schools and other institutions.

This innovative solution meets the needs of communities facing challenges such as supporting internally displaced persons and ensuring the stable operation of social institutions. This initiative will optimize costs and improve food quality.
