Carrots sharply rose in price in Ukraine: experts named the reasons for the price increase

According to hvylya.net: Prices for carrots in Ukraine are rising sharply, becoming a problem for consumers. According to analysts from the EastFruit project, the cost of quality root vegetables in farms of major production regions currently ranges from 8 to 15 UAH per kilogram. This is on average 24% more than a week ago.

Experts cite seasonal supply shortages as the main factor behind the price increase. Most farmers have already sold their mid-early carrot varieties, while the harvest of late varieties has not yet begun. This pause in supply has put significant pressure on prices.

Market operators note that today's price of carrots remains about 35% lower than at the same time last year. At the same time, producers do not rule out further price increases if high sales rates are maintained.

The situation with the sharp rise in carrot prices in Ukraine is explained by a seasonal supply shortage, which has led to an increase in the price of this product. Prices may continue to rise if the supply situation remains unchanged, which may complicate purchasing for many consumers.
