VAKS allowed a remote trial against businessman Halanternik in the case of Trukhanov

According to glavcom.ua: The High Anti-Corruption Court has decided to permit a special court proceeding in the case of businessman Volodymyr Halanternik. He is one of the suspects in the case of the mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, which concerns the illegal appropriation of community property and the laundering of large sums of money. The suspect systematically evaded participation in court hearings and concealed himself from the investigation, even leaving the country and not returning afterwards.

According to the investigation, the participants of the scheme transferred land plots to developers without a competition, which allowed them to illegally appropriate this property and build residential properties on it.

The decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court regarding the special court proceeding further emphasizes the seriousness of the charges faced by the suspects in this complex case.
