"One must work," says Anna Kravchenko from Spasske in the Sumy region, about the secret of her longevity. In June, the woman turned 100 years old. Anna Ivanivna has a daughter, two granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, and three great-great-granddaughters. There is a 99-year age difference with the youngest great-great-granddaughter. At 100 years old, the woman keeps a personal diary that she does not show to anyone. She meticulously records the most significant events of the family and the village. Furthermore, Mrs. Anna loves to work in the garden – a year ago she personally grew and weeded strawberries. She says that even though she is already 100, she can celebrate her birthday twice.

"When they said they would take me to Germany, we hid – that’s it. My mother then dropped everything and went to the doctor. She asked him to write that I was sick with lung disease. And then I was not taken to Germany. My mother then registered me as born in 1925, not 1924. When they started taking people to Germany, we hid in the forests, in houses, everywhere. Then we were sent to Russia to work – to build the railway, the sleepers," recalls the centenarian.
So Mrs. Anna's real birthday is December 22. She grew up in a large family. The centenarian remembers her brothers and sisters: "Motrya, Kulina, and four boys – Tishko, Prokip, Andriy, and Ivan."
