War costs Ukraine $172 million daily: The General Staff named the amount

According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine spends over 7 billion hryvnias daily on conducting a full-scale war initiated by Russia. This was reported by the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov on the 'News.Live' program.

«We can calculate how much this burden costs per year, and understand that we cannot withstand this financial load on our own,» he emphasized.

According to him, it is important to receive funding from Western partners to support expenses. This will allow the development of the Ukrainian defense industry and the implementation of new technologies, giving the country an advantage.

Hnatov also noted that war with a powerful country is very costly. It should be reminded that the IMF has determined Ukraine's funding needs by 2027 at $10-20 billion more than the government planned. This may complicate obtaining international support for the country.

The government also predicts a budget deficit for 2026 of $45 billion, while foreign partners are only willing to cover $35 billion. This was reported by Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.

Ukraine spends a significant amount of money daily on conducting the war provoked by Russia. Securing funding from international partners and strategically planning expenditures may become crucial for successfully countering the situation of high financial tension.
