According to ХВИЛЯ: In an interview, Tetiana Zabrodska explained the difference between civilian salary and financial support for military personnel, as well as named specific amounts of payments in 2026. According to new data, the minimum threshold for a soldier-recruit will be a little over 20 thousand hryvnias.

The full monthly financial support for a soldier of the ground forces or territorial defense forces for the first month will amount to 20,130 hryvnias. Meanwhile, for soldiers who are on the frontline, the payment can reach over 120 thousand hryvnias. The maximum amount that a soldier on the battlefield can receive is 120,400 hryvnias.

Online Calculator and New Payments

In May 2024, an online calculator for financial support was introduced on the Ministry of Defense's website. To calculate, a fighter needs to know their rank, tariff category, and length of service. One-time payments for military personnel, such as material assistance, are also provided.

Starting from February 11, 2025, young people aged 18 to 25 can sign a contract and receive a one-time payment of 1 million hryvnias. As Tetiana Zabrodska noted,

“It is quite accessible and easy”

. These innovations demonstrate the growing support for the military in the country and the attempt to improve service conditions.
