A petroleum refinery in Volgograd is on fire again: Russians claim 'planned waste disposal' after drone attacks
On Saturday, August 16, another fire broke out near the local oil refinery in Volgograd, leading to temporary restrictions on the departure and arrival of aircraft at the airport and the announcement of an air alert. According to local channels, rescue services arrived on the scene but explained the event as 'planned disposal of oil products for tank repairs', though residents expressed doubts about this version. Recall that just at night on August 14, Volgograd was attacked by drones, resulting in a severe fire at the oil refinery. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed responsibility for hitting the plant, which belongs to LLC 'Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka'. Also, earlier, drones had already attacked Russia, striking other facilities in the country, including the oil refinery and the 'Electropribor' association. Following the previous drone attack on the oil refinery, another fire incident has raised concerns among the residents of Volgograd and calls for further investigation. There is significant outrage among the public and doubts regarding the true cause of the fire, demanding attention and transparency in addressing this issue.
