According to hvylya.net: The Russian Federation is intensifying military actions in Ukraine, namely conducting offensives and bombings after the US decided to halt supplies of certain weapons to Ukraine. According to The Wall Street Journal, this move helps President Putin improve his position amid weak support for Kiev from the West.

During a conversation with Trump on Thursday, the Russian president clearly indicated that he intends to continue the war. 'Our president said that Russia will achieve its goals, which are to eliminate the causes behind the current state of affairs,' said Putin's advisor Yuri Ushakov.

Among the halted supplies from the American government were air defense interceptors, which were crucial for protecting Ukrainian cities from air attacks.

Russian Strategies and Trends

Russia has concentrated over 50,000 soldiers in the Sumy region and has approached the regional center by 20 kilometers. The ratio of forces is about three Russian soldiers for one Ukrainian. During the latest attack on Kyiv, Russia used drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles, according to reports from the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to WSJ analysts, territorial capture may no longer be the main goal for Russia at this stage of the war. Putin is directing his efforts toward depleting Ukrainian forces and equipment, as well as undermining support from both the population and the West. The head of the 'Come Back Alive' fund, Taras Chmut, notes: 'We must assess not only the area of captured territory but also the casualties on both sides.'

Ukraine remains under tension due to Russian offensives following the halt of American military equipment supplies, the concentration of a large number of troops at the border, and strategic actions aimed at deepening the crisis. Both military facilities and civilian settlements in Ukraine are under attack, raising the threat to national security.
