28-year-old soldier Andriy Makarov died in Kyiv: story of life and struggle

28-year-old soldier Andriy Makarov died on October 20, 2025, in Kyiv during treatment after a severe shrapnel wound. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Rivne City Council.
Andriy Makarov was born on October 22, 1996, in Rivne. He studied at school No. 22 and later worked as a messenger.
The man did not serve in the army, but at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces. At first, he defended the country as part of the 14th separate mechanized brigade, and later, at his own request, he transferred to the Third Assault Brigade.
Andriy was kind, had many friends, and loved to communicate with people. On weekends, he would go out of town for recreation.
This January, while carrying out a combat mission in Kharkiv region, the man suffered severe shrapnel wounds - complications arose during treatment. Various medical institutions in the country fought for the serviceman's life for a long time.
Unfortunately, 28-year-old soldier Andriy Makarov died on October 20, 2025, during treatment in Kyiv.
Andriy Makarov was buried on October 29 at the cemetery in the village of Oleksandriya, Rivne district.
The hero left behind parents, a sister, a wife, and three children.
