Prices for potatoes and oil are soaring: experts recommend stockpiling
Experts have reported that the cost of potatoes and sunflower oil will increase, affecting the wallets of Ukrainians. The recommendation is to stock up in advance to avoid additional expenses.
According to the company 'ProAgro Group', potato prices may significantly rise to 9-11 hryvnias per kilogram. Analysts explain this increase due to the reduction of sown areas and unfavorable weather conditions for agricultural work. It is expected that the price increase will also affect sunflower oil, which may reach 100 hryvnias per liter.
Head of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association Taras Bashtannik points to several factors causing this scenario: reduction of sown areas, increasing fuel and transportation costs, as well as the whims of the weather.
In specialists' opinion, the situation with rising prices may improve after the harvest of fresh crops in October-November. But for now, they recommend closely monitoring promotions in stores and stockpiling at old prices.
Prices for potatoes and sunflower oil are increasing due to the decrease in sown areas, poor weather conditions, and other factors. Experts advise to stock up in advance, as the price increase may last until the new harvest in the fall.
