Zelensky: investigation of the work in Odessa is necessary

According to glavcom.ua: President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of those who died in the natural disaster in Odessa. As a result of the weather catastrophe, 9 people died, including one child. The president ordered a complete inspection of the work of the city authorities, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police are involved in rescue and recovery operations.

The number of dead has increased, and search operations continue. Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the powerful downpour and flooding in Odessa and the Odessa region. The situation is critical, - the State Emergency Service reported.

Rescuers saved 362 people

Rescue operations are ongoing, and hundreds of people and vehicles have been saved. 227 vehicles have been evacuated from water traps, and water is being pumped out of flooded buildings and basements. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service are providing assistance to victims at the scene.
